Equity Withdrawal Form

Under the by-laws of Prairie Sky Co-operative Assoc. Ltd., members have three options for withdrawing their equity:

1. In the Event of a Member’s Passing
  • Upon the death of a member, the Co-operative will pay the full equity amount to the
    member’s estate.
  • If a surviving spouse or family member wishes to retain the existing Co-op membership
    number, they must indicate this on the withdrawal application. In this case, $10 will be
    retained to maintain the membership.
  • If the membership is held jointly, it will be transferred to a sole membership under the
    surviving member’s name.

2. Relocation Outside of the Trading Area
  • Members who establish a permanent residence outside the Prairie Sky Co-op trading area
    may apply for equity withdrawal. As per the by-laws, payouts can be processed six months
    after board approval. The full equity amount will be paid out, leading to the cancellation
    of the membership.

3. Upon Reaching the Age of 65
  • Members aged 65 or older may apply for equity down payment at any time.
  • For joint memberships, equity is only payable when the younger member reaches 65.
  • To maintain an active membership, $200 will be retained.

Additionally, this form should be used for name changes, business dissolutions, and other equity-related requests, including compassionate account closures.

To withdraw your Prairie Sky Co-op equity:
  • If you meet any of the above criteria, please download and fill out the withdrawal form,
    ensuring all required documents (as listed on the form) are attached when submitting.
  • For estate withdrawals, including estate transfers, a Bond of Indemnity must also be
    completed and submitted.
  • Once all forms and required documents are compiled, you can submit them using one of
    the provided methods.
